Question Bucyrus Relocation...suggestions?

My family will be relocating to Bucyrus, OH next month. Does anyone have any suggestions on the school districts--Bucyrus City, Winford, Col Crawford? We are also looking for a rental--preferably a 2-3 br house with a lg yard that will allow us to bring our two dogs. At this time we are not looking to buy as we still own a home in NE Ohio and plan on keeping that for at least the next year or so. Any suggestions on great places for kid and family activities is also a plus. We are very active in soccer and cub scouts at the moment and looking to possibly join girl scouts and/or a 4-H club as well. Thanks!

Bucyrus is a beautiful town. Bratwurst capital of America. It's a slice of Americana.

I don't live in Bucyrus, but I have family there and I have visited many times.

Overall, my understanding is that Bucyrus schools are the best in Crawford County. Galion would be runner-up. I haven't heard many positive things about Winford or Colonel Crawford.

There is a very large park on the west side of Bucyrus with a carillion, city pool and a suspension bridge over the river. It's pretty cool. Definitely a hub of activity in the summer. There are plenty of youth sports groups to join.

I am currently working in Bucyrus and I would not call it beautiful by any means. There are nice parts as with any city, but there and very many run down parts. The center of down has a few nice places, but a lot of run down or businesses closing(probably due to the economy). There is this one house that constantly sells boat motors off the front lawn and it looks very trashy.I guess I'm from a bigger city and am used to well kept houses, and that is certainly not true of bucyrus. It's definately a small country town. There are some very nice parts where 4 splits off of 98 going south. I would look around there for housing. Luckily, the houses are going at a reasonable price. I believe you have to pay for garbage pick up though.
Bucyrus schools are very good. the high school and middle school building are combined and are just getting done being remodled. If you don't need to live in Bucyrus, there is a city close to it(Galion) which is about 12 minutes away. Schools are updated, but might not be quite as good as Bucyrus. Do not send your kids to Wynford. Galion is nice and has several small parks right by 598 and 19. I would also look there. Only problem is that electric is VERY expensive.

I love Bucyrus. I used to go up to the Bratwurst Festival every year when I was a kid.

Is really a beautiful town. I used to stay at my aunt's house at the corner of Hill Street and Plants Way, before the house was torn down to make way for an addition to the hospital. Shame since it was 99 years old, one year before being eligible to he put on the historical list.

The only area of Bucyrus that I can think of that isn't nice is east of the old rails, but it's not a ghetto by no means.
