Default Scenic Drives

Does anyone have recommendations for scenic drives around the Columbus area? What are the best routes to escape and see beautiful countryside nearby? What roads/areas are best to see some beautiful homes?

My Favorites are:

Route 315 through Delaware County.

West Orange Road in Delaware County.

Several roads in Union County (covered bridge area).

One of the BIG assets of Columbus is the beautiful surrounding countryside. There are some days I just get in my car and drive out somewhere I've never been. Lots of bucolic small towns and farms.

If you head up to Mt. Vernon, there's a lot of countryside to see along US 36, both to the east and west. It's hillier to the east and flatter to the west.

Granville is a really neat college town just outside of Newark, to the east of Columbus. I would recommend taking a drive there.

Southern Delaware County has a lot of scenic roads, in addition to what has been already mentioned. Home Road has some areas that are very scenic. Carriage Rd. is also very nice. Bale Kenyon Rd is scenic (but you do have to look at the freeway.

A trip to West Liberty in the early fall is pretty nice, and you get to see two great and unique mansions:

I went to a wedding near Millersburg one time... the country roads around there that twist through the small hills and meadows are unbelievable. Ohio catches you off guard sometimes with its natural beauty.
