Default School District Boundries in Powell

We are about to relocate to the area from Michigan. We found a house in Scioto Reserve (powell) that we will be looking at next week. But I am having a problem finding out what school district that is. When I checked it said Buckeye Valley, which is awfuilly far away when there is a school 2 miles from the house. And when I went to the Buckeye Valley schools website, and entered the address, it could not find it. I am a bit confused. Is this Buckeye Valley OR... Olentangy schools ? And if it IS BV schools.. why ? Thanks for any info you can give me !!

Default Powell Schools

Personally, I would call the schools and get a confirmation from them. Here are phone numbers for the Buckeye Valley schools.

Buckeye Valley Local School District schools, Delaware - OH: charter and public schools. Delaware school district - Delaware OH school district

Yes, Scioto Reserve is notorious for its confusing mix of Olentangy School and Buckeye Valley. Check with Delaware County Auditor site http://oh-delaware-auditor.governmax.org/

I did just that, what I found was confusing at best. And I sure don't understand why some kids would be bussed almost 16 miles away ( my son is in middle school ), when there is a school about 2 miles from the house. Our son has asthma, and sometimes needs to be picked up for a breathing treatment at home. So traveling that distance is not in his best interest. I loved the house we found, but I guess I will keep looking. Does anyone know if you can request a different school ? Here in Michigan ( where we live at least ), you can do that, but are responsible for transportation. We are only going to be in the Columbus area for 2 years +/-, and are looking to rent for the time we are there. I read good things about the Olentangy school district, and think I would like to stick with that. It's back to the drawing board it looks like ! Thank you to the responders. You did help clear up the confusion !
