Default What industries are thriving despite the recession?

What does the job outlook look like for Columbus? My husband works in marketing/graphic design, and I am a CPA, but want to move into finance. In MD/DC area, marketing jobs are available, but really competitive to get. Accounting firms had been hiring hoards of people every few months for the past several years, but in the past 6 months, ALL of the large accounting firms have being laying off people right and left. How about Columbus?

Columbus overall has been very stable but it is getting tougher all the time. Columbus is the state capital, has Ohio State University and other major employers which certainly help. Columbus is a service industry area, therefore your marketing and accounting would fit in. Columbus Dispatch employment section is a good starting point for employment.
