Maybe your general perception is not everyones general perception. The world exists outside your bubble.

My bubble? Ask most people here... is it the Hollywood elite or trailer park/ghetto trash that comes to mind when thinking of those who might keep this particular breed of dog.

Maybe trailer park/getto trash comes to your mind. whenever we have these pit bulls discussions it seems the opinion of this breed is pretty split down the middle. So to say MOST people would first think of a trailer park/geto trash owner when talking about a pit bull is very ignorant.

We both know the answer to my last question and you are avoiding the truth. There is absolutely no reason for anyone who wants a loving family pet to search for this specific breed of dog.

Avoiding what truth? The fact that pit bulls score higher on temperment tests as a breed than both border collies and beagles. The fact is I live in Hawaii and pit bulls will never be banned here, so I'm glad ignorance will not get my dogs taken away out here. IT's nice to take you dog to most beaches and you only get positive responces. The only negative responce is when tourists see your dog and cuddle their kids in fear like satan is coming for their baby. But we all just laugh and have a good time at their expense.

Maybe you are onto something here!! I think plenty of mainland people would support sending as many Pit Bull Terriers to Hawaii as possible. That way they could be free to frolic in packs on the beaches without fear of being persecuted. Lovely idea.

acbvegas is on a distinguished road
ya i cant believe how ignorant people are i have a red nose pit bull and raised him since he was six weeks old and he has the best temperment of all the dogs i have owned it all depends on the owner and how the dog is raised in my opinion its more of nurture than nature that affects your animal. he lets my 3 and 5 year old cousins get away with murder with him and doesnt so much as growl and ever lets them pet him while hes eating. i feel they shouldnt be banned but if people abuse the priveledge of having a dog by fighting them etc etc they should lose the right to own one plane and simple not get rid of a breed all together

My Aunt and Uncle who are both Doctors with 4 kids have 2. I visited friends at Miami, in Oxford and probably saw about 4 during my trip. What delinquents those Miami kids always turn out to be.

What you are trying to get across is this; the media portrays only ghetto/trailer trash as owning these dogs. Why? Because most pit bull attacks are done in areas where the dogs are mishandled and abused, therefor they are more prone to attacking - since pit bulls ARE genetically more aggressive. But that isn't to say that proper training and socialization don't work.. because it does. Only a small minority of pit bulls are violent towards humans and other dogs.

Finally, ignorance is bliss. Have a wonderful day

Sounds good to me! I wouldn't mind a beach full of pit bulls and it would weed out the ignorant tourists.

I have a difficult time trying to stop myself from laughing when people with screen names including "hood" and "harley" are the ones bringing an argument as to why Pit Bull Terriers are a perfectly sane choice for a family pet.
