Actually, this thread is pretty indicative of Columbus attitude.

Lanc is entitled to express his points of view, and in Columbus this freedom is very accepted. However, as Streetcreed states, that point of view is in the distinct minority.

Overall, Columbus is very gay accepting. However, when there is a gay rights event, you usually have a small, but vocal, group of protesters condemning the event. I would say that is a typical Columbus process, and I wouldn't find either sides of that troubling, that is just part of living in Columbus.

But it is very rare for these events to turn into anything but a minor shout down. Physical altercations are prevented by the police, and Columbus really doesn't have much of a stomach for that stuff anyway.

Columbus is generally to be considered one of the more gay friendly cities around:

Ironically, I have never participated in such an activity myself!

Yeah I know—shocker—but it just seems counterproductive to me anyway
