I always liked the metroparks. They even have some down between Lancaster and Logan.

The metro parks just north of Franklin County have hills and south of Columbus. South of Columbus has Hocking hills which is some great outdoor hiking with ravines, caves, caverns, waterfalls. I love to go there for a getaway.

it's flat
and despite streetcrud's supposition most of the US has a lot more contours. Pittsburgh and the appalachians are not the only places that have contours. Florida's flatter, but I'd say most of Ohio is second.

If you are looking for more contours, head down to southern Ohio.

Me too, I live here because I work here. Fortunately it happens to be a beautiful city, hilly, surrounded by water on three sides, the list goes on. It's San Francisco.

Here's the thing: I just bought a small lot in a tiny town about as far from here as I can get and still be in California. It's flat as a pancake!

I guess the pancake's always flatter on the other side.

I'd agree, C-bus is flat, but we have hills. lol! I love the parks. Just because Columbus is flat doesn't make our parks crap. heck, you only have to go less than an hour out of Columbus to get some great views. The state parks are great and also have nice trails. But I'd admit my husband laughs when people talk about skiing. He says they're mole hills, compared to what he used to ski on in michigan.

Your are so right about FL. We visited our son in Pensacola a many years ago. He was based their with the Navy. Could not believe how flat it was. Whats funny is now after how many years, we decided to move to FL It doesn't snow there. Guess we will still be a flat lander. But with sand between our toes

Yes, Columbus is flat. The mountains states are OK, but those mountains actually get in the way of the view

You never had me stirred up. I just can't figure out why someone would spend all their time on an internet board trashing a place that they no longer live in. It would be different if you said something that was beneficial to the conversation even if it didn't portray Columbus as some type of Utopia. Which it isn't.

If where you currently reside is soooooooo great it seems you would be taking advantage of that. Not talking endlessly about where you don't want to live. You sound like a junior high kid.

If trashing Columbus for no particular reason helps you sleep at night then feel free. Seems like you live a pathetic life to me.
I agree with you. I grew up in West Virginia and Pittsburgh where slopes are abundant. When a bad ice storm hits, you appreciate the flat-ness.
