Is Columbus really flat as a board?
I know that much of Columbus is flat and was mostly farmland before it was built, but from what I recall, the last time I visited my aunt and uncle in Dublin, there were some rolling hills in the area. I know it's not hilly like St. Louis or especially Cincinnati, but I don't remember it being flat like Chicago either...

Northern Columbus, and central north Columbus, have some ravines, creeks, the main Metro's rivers the Olentangy and the Scioto.
These rivers and ravines have bike trails and parks along them. Basically, once you get north of Ohio State University Columbus has random hills and the rivers run right through the NW and middle of the city/metro. If you like on the east and west sides its very flat and lacks the scenic trails, etc.. It is also cheaper to live in eastern Pickerington than mid-north ravine/woods filled Clintonville.
Other than these areas, the city is basically flat. However, this only seems to bother those that are use to seeing a flat area come with a scenic ocean or come from one of the Appalachian region cities like Pittsburgh or far west Denver/Seattle regions. Columbus is very green, has many trees, and for those not near the rivers, many city parks and metro parks.

It is flat as a pancake. If you want to run a marathon, Cowtown would be a top-10 choice (although it is a boring route). No hills, no slopes leading down to water, nothing. It's a city built on a farmfield. The parks are little more than large treelawns, and the "metroparks" are not anywhere near what "metroparks" are in other cities.

Columbus sure is a better city now that you don't live here anymore.

YOU LIVE IN WESTON, CT!!!!!! Do I have to say anything? LMAO!
Ever been on the west side? Ever heard of the Hilltop?..IT LEADS DOWN TO WATER!!
Out of all the Columbus metroparks you still make this ignorant comment! WOW! OOHH NO a park which is focused more on the area, rather then the McDonalds across the street.

over-all columbus/cetral ohio is very flat compared to the northern and southern parts of the state. and i agree with the above poster, the metro parks in the columbus metro are severly lacking the outdoor activities that cinci and cleveland enjoy.

I love getting you little kids all stirred up about Cowtown! Yes, I'm glad I don't live there, anymore, and yes, Cowtown is flat as can be.

Columbus is flat. I like that about it. I lived in Toledo for many years. It is really flat up there.
I never could figure out why people think living in an area that is flat is a problem.

You never had me stirred up. I just can't figure out why someone would spend all their time on an internet board trashing a place that they no longer live in. It would be different if you said something that was beneficial to the conversation even if it didn't portray Columbus as some type of Utopia. Which it isn't.
If where you currently reside is soooooooo great it seems you would be taking advantage of that. Not talking endlessly about where you don't want to live. You sound like a junior high kid.
If trashing Columbus for no particular reason helps you sleep at night then feel free. Seems like you live a pathetic life to me.
