Help!! Moving to Columbus. Am I making the right decision?
I've heard wonderful things about Columbus but I have options. My choices are Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Northern KY. How are the taxes there? I've heard Dublin is cool. What about Powell and Westerville? Is there anything I need to know? Should I check out options? I'm getting cold feet I guess. I live in El Paso, TX and it was 75 degrees yesterday and we were out playing golf. I know that is not going to happen with any of my options but any guidance is appreciated. I love the outdoors and especially golf. We have a 10 month old little girl. We love food and wine. I just picked up scrapbooking. I guess everyone with a baby does for a while but I really enjoy it. Pretty much home bodies but like to go out every once in a while.

Indianapolis
I would say the best place for you too chose is either Indianapolis or Columbus who would probably have more cultural things there than you would in Cincinnati or Pittsburgh, I would prefer Indianapolis over all of them.

It's been a few years since I've been to El Paso, but Columbus would be a very positive switch.
Not as much "culture" as El Paso, but there's also no spillover violence from Juarez to deal with.
Shopping in Columbus makes Sunland Park look like a strip mall. Parks are safer (and greener). There's Pro and Semi-Pro sports available, not just the Diablos.
You've mentioned the suburbs on the north and east side of town, all nice places.
Ohio is temperate, the climate is more predictable than what you're used to in the desert. Expect 100+ degree days in the summer, and a few days in the single digits in the winter. The recent cold-snap is not representative of typical Ohio winters.
Golfing is outstanding, and the restaurants are top notch.
Columbus gets my vote, hands down.

Um, i don't think C-bus gets any 100+ degree days at all unless we get a pretty bad heat wave, which is rare.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh and it is much more cultured than Columbus. However, Columbus is much more diverse if that makes any sense. Columbus has the best job market of any city mentioned.

Columbus has a great job market.
However, the only culture here is in a perti dish at OSU

I've endured it for about 8-9 years here and I'm trying to relocate to somewhere warm and dry.... I'll fly back for a weekend or two during football season. I don't know Pittsburgh but Cincinatti has a more big-city feel, and a couple of my cbus friends are actually moving there.
