Columbus, Ohio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's the humidity really, not the actual temp that gets you...

LOL relax buddy, I am calm, I don't believe in those stupid internet fights. I mean come on.

And that is opinion based, New Mexico is better. Good for you, and I wish you the best of luck out in New Mexico. Its a choice to comment in the Columbus forum, lol I hope you don't consider it a crime to comment in here. Even after you move to ALBQ, I would still hope you post in here, just to keep people informed, and give them your opinion, like I said before, thats what this site if for... OPINIONS.

The problem with that argument is that if you go and look at the actual years of those records you will see that they all happened in the 1950s.

It's very common for people who grow up here to never leave or to come back. I'll admit that I don't get that. I don't find the people here particularly friendly or welcoming. I've come across the attitude from locals that if you're not from here, you're not really worth knowing. The people I've made as friends are all from somewhere else.

Personally, I find that you have both sets of people in Columbus. There are times when I happen to make eye contact and smile or wave and get a look of "What the hell are you doing?" from the other person. That's generally on campus. However, there have been times that I have been waiting for the bus on High St. (north of Campus, north of Arcadia) and have had pleasent conversations with others waiting for the same bus. Also, people tend to be friendly on the bus. Personally, I always think it's a little unfair to paint any city, be it NYC or Anytown, USA, with a broad brush in terms of its friendliness because each individual person has a different personality.

Cbus2abq,

Yes, nice review. Maybe I am the same grad as you back in 2002 summer, with that dumb Prez Bush as the speaker.

I always want to move away from this city, due to its coldness and boring life. Having spent over 8 years here I think the following are the typical reasons people love this city:

1) Some people really like cold weather, and snow, over the Sunny and warm water beach and snorkelling around colorful corals.

2) They think this is a city with great cultures and history.

Pardon the people of with those opinions above, because they have not been to Europe and they speak only American English. Or should say, they have not been to any real Global country except those poor USA territory.

But one thing is great here -- good size city with low housing price and living expense, and if you get a good paying job then it's an O.K place to live. This is why I am stuck here, but eventually I will escape.

The problem with your problem with this argument is that Ohio weather BLOWS. You get about a month of nice spring time, and a month of nice autmn. The other 10 months of the year are either hot&humid or cold&humid.

I agree with the "not worth knowing" aspect of that... I've gotten looks from people like basically saying "just don't be here" ... then que in Arena district drunken brawls

Nope - I grad'd Fall quarter, in December 2002, so you beat me by 1 quarter. I dont even remember who our speaker was, we were crammed into Value City Arena.

1) first i have to call u out MOD CUT. ur not any better than anyone else just because u could afford to take a vacation in europe. I've been there many times, lots of people have been there and other countires around the world, get over yourself. and as far as the 'american' english thing, thats america, not just cbus.

2) I have never met anyone who has said columbus has a great history

3) if u hate the cold then use some of that spare money u have from ur high paying job and your low cost of living/ housing and take ur freezing ass on vacation and go get a tan and go snorkling if thats ur thing

4) the reason movers dont get along with the lifers is that everyone talks like where they came from was so much better and us lifers are sick of hearing about it, if it was so great u would have never left
