Worthington, Dublin or Powell?
What do you think? Worthington, Dublin or Powell?
We are a family of 4. One child will be in 10 grade and the other in 6th. We like parks, the library, one is a swimmer, one plays lacrosse and football.
We need to be close to Polaris. We would like to live in a neighborhood. We have found living in a newer neighborhood people seem to be more willing to get to know new people.
So far we like the Dublin Rec Center. We didn't care for Powell's swim team because the kids had to practice at 5 AM because they don't have enough water space. We haven't seen Worthington's rec center...but I think one of their high schools has a pool.
Which community do you think, "has it all." Thanks

Based upon your stated needs, likely Dublin.

Dublin would be best overall I would think... lots of newer/younger neighborhoods, great school system, all the sports mentioned are available through high school & the dublin rec center is pretty great. It would also probably be the most expensive..

I'd be wary to make a housing decision based on pool time.
All 3 have very good schools. Have you considered Lewis Center, you can't get any closer to Polaris and it's in the excellent Olantangy Local school district.

Very true. We live in the Powell area and love it. All areas the OP mentioned are distinctive/different in their own ways. My kids don't swim so I can't help in that respect. Unless you have a potential Olympic swimmer, does the pool factor really dictate where you would live? Overall, athletics in general are probably great in any of these residential areas. Good luck.

You know, when I wrote the "pool time" thing I know it sounded odd. The thing is he would have to practice at 5:30 AM for months for the next 3 years. That seems to be a bit inconvenient. I just wanted to explain our thoughts.

Fun,
If swimming is that a big factor to you, you may want to consider Dublin due to the re-creation center. But I believe there could be some restrictions on it.
In another sense, if you do not mind about paying for fitness center, powell could be an ideal location due to its proximity to LifeTime fitness ($125/month for whole family, last I heard) and Urban Fitness, as well as Scioto Reserve club.

Just wanted to inform you that the area at Polaris, adjacent and south of the mall, is Columbus City Limits and Worthington Schools. They are newish neighborhoods with the great worthington schools.
There is a new Columbus Rec Center, though it has no pool, right next to these neighborhoods as well. I am not sure if you can use the Worthington Rec Center, nearby, since you are actually living in the city of Columbus.
I think it would be worth checking into because you would have lower taxes, good schools, be near Polaris for work (like a minute away), and be in newer neighborhoods.
To be exact the neighborhoods I am thinking of are off of Sancus Blvd or Lazelle Rd. The Lazelle neighborhoods seem to have nicer homes.
