Default Rent in Bexley?

Hello,

I hope some of you can help us out
We are looking to move to Columbus. My husband will be working at OSU and the kids will go to preschool at JCC college av. Bexley.
We have looked at Gahanna e.o. but many of those neigbourhoods seem like filmsets... I am afraid that as I housewife with no friends yet I will feel very desperate housewife-like ( that is lonely) in one of those ´plastic´perfect houses...
Maybe we have got the wrong impression?
Anyway now we where looking in Bexley which looks more charming but it is really hard to find something.
I was wondering how the market is, maybe it is very small for rentals?
And also if it is a safe neigbourhood because we hear different opinions....
Are there any other area´s that would be ok familyfriendly and safe and within 20 min of work-preschool?
Thank you so much for any information!

Yes it sounds as though you are looking for an upscale community with a real sense of community, walkable streets, homes with character, etc..

Many of the 'exurbs' or 'newer' suburbs are not going to be your style. Although, the 90s boom burbs do have older cores, such as Westerville or Worthington, both of these are close to OSU, especially Worthington, on the highway.

Now, Bexley would be your cup of tea as would Grandview (which is more moderately priced and more likely to have rentals.) Grandview is located just down highway 70 from your kids school and would be close to downtown (as is Bexley) and Grandview is the closest to work at OSU.

Bexley is not known for rentals but there are some homes for rent, with the economy, and there are some apartments (some nice some run down) though most are on the border of the Columbus/Bexley corp. limit.
