I know you are looking for a more urban feel, but there are some areas in Gahanna that could be really nice for you. And it would be a very short commute to Easton. There are some new condos right on the waterway in old Gahanna that might be a good fit. I think they are on Mill Street near old Gahanna.

Clintonville and Worthington are nice as well.

Both Grandview and Grandview Heights are nicer areas. I think one is a separate municipality, and one is technically still part of Columbus. I'm not sure which is which, but maybe someone here can help who is more familiar with it.
