Young couple relocating to Columbus area for Marysville job...where to live?
My husband is being relocated to Marysville, Ohio.
I've pretty much exhausted the search for places to rent in Marysville...there aren't many options, especially with our two Saint Bernards. Also, we want a more urban and busier feel as we live in Indianapolis now, which seems a little small as we are originally from the Detroit Metro area.
We would appreciate any suggestions on areas that would fit our needs. Most important: we want an urban feel, a place that is really easy to meet other young 20-somethings, safe enough to walk the dogs at night (but it doesn't have to be mayberry, we are from detroit lol), and within 40 minutes of marysville. We are willing to pay up to $1200/month.
Thanks so much!

The easiest commute would be Dublin. About 25 minutes from Marysville and is a very nice area. It is not very urban though.

Agree, Dublin would be a good choice. No place in Columbus is going to feel as urban as Detroit, but Dublin has good schools and lots of good neighborhoods to choose from. Upper Arlington might be a little more urban as its closer to the actual city of Columbus (inside the beltway). Another good area is Worthington. But for ease of commute and a somewhat urban feel, I'd say go with Dublin.

Third
Downtown Columbus isn't any more urban than Dublin.
But coming from Detroit it might be a little culturally devoid.

Your posts are ridiculous, comparing a area, downtown, that was built in the 1800s and 1900s to Dublin developed in the 1980s? And saying Columbus is culturally devoid compared to Detroit? Its crazy talk I tell you. You must make a living as a comedian.

My daughter who is also a 20 something will be moving next week to work in Marysville too!!!
She will be living in the Dublin area in temp housing. Just from looking at the map we thought this area would be best suited for her as it looks pretty urban and ideally located to be halfway between work and from downtown C-bus - which we thought would be a good social event area.
If you need to talk to more people about C-bus get yourself on Yelp.com for the area and ask questions there. The people are nice and have discussed moving to the area already.
Best of luck to you.
And if you work in the car industry---drop a line.

Baghdad is safer for a black male than Detroit, Baltimore or Philadelphia.

Short North or Italian Village is probably your best bet.
