Default Home pricing in Westerville area!

What is the price range of housing in Westerville? I am sure it can vary tremendously but for a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath, 2400 sq feet, no more than 5 years old in a nice subdivison? We may be moving from Fishers, IN. What are taxes in this area? Husband would be commuting to Mt. Vernon but we don't want to live in the country. we would want to live on the east side of Westerville, Sunbury, Gahanna area. Thanks for your help!

A home as you describe would generally start in the lower to mid $200's. You can find a home about 10 years old for as low as $200 in the area, but based upon your desire to have a newer home I would plan on about $240-$250 as the starting point.

Annual property taxes on homes in Westerville generally would be about 2-2.5% of purchase price, so I'd figure about $5000-$6000 on a $250K home.

$250k is the starting point for a vinyl sided home in Westerville with your criteria.

Most of the homes are still overpriced because everyone bought way too high.

Not to intrude, but are there specific reasons you want to stay on that side of town? Have you thought about the Delaware, Lewis Center, Worthington area?

There is such a large variety in pricing in Westerville depending on where in Westerville. Even on the east side. Right in between The Hoover Dam and New Albany are some newer subdivisions that have what you are looking for. You would get a Westerville address and Columbus taxes. School systems vary in that area because it is such a niche area with what has been zoned where.

I work with a few Realtors who would be able to help you with a relocate if you were interested. They will show you some properties around that area if you come this way. Just let me know and I can them your info.

Can someone tell me more about the benefits of "Columbus taxes"? I see this a lot, and I was hoping for more details.
