getting discouraged- please help?!!!
So we've decided to move to C-bus. We're most interested in the southwest area, around where Broad St, and 270 intersect. we've been looking at all the appartment complexes in the area, but the reviews are leaving us more than hesitant to put our money down. mold, noise, poor maintenance, crime, rediculously rude and incompetent staff, it all seems to abound in these complexes.
so am i just smoking crack to think that we can get a decent place (3 bed, 1200+ sq ft), that is reletively free of these issues, for around a grand a month?
would we do better to look for a house? where can we find listings? cause all we ever seem to find is apartment listings.
thanks in advance!!!!
Dana

I wouldn't recommend that area. That's near Lincoln Village and Westland Mall that you're looking at right? That was the first real suburban community built in Columbus and has definitely seen it's better days.
For 3 bedrooms, I would definitely look into renting a house over an apartment.

actually, our (my wife's and my) girlfriend lives there in that area. the schools arent too bad, and its fairly close to most of the things we want/need.
i'll check out that website. thanks!
now living right in that particular area is not a must, but thats where we've been looking. anything within 15-20 minutes of that area would be fine- any suggestions?
thanks!

Let me know if this < Heritage Green - Apartments in Hilliard > is of any interest to you. I might be able to help you out. When you start talking about $1000+ a month, I think you might want to consider buying. Other areas of Columbus, like German Village and Grandview have quite a few rentals that might be of interest as well, however you need to look on Craigslist or drive around the neighborhoods to take down numbers. They don't advertise quite as extensively.

While the general far west side doesn't have the best reputation, there are some areas that are nicer just a little further west of I270 and Broad St. There are many newer neighborhoods that have been built there in the last 10 years. Also, as you head north (from 1270 and west broad) there are many nice neighborhoods in Hilliard.
