Which Dublin Subdivision?
Hello
We're moving to Dublin and are trying to decide which subdivision would be best...we're leaning toward Muirfield Village, though some of the areas around Coffman HS are close to the rec center, shopping, etc. Does anyone have any experience with these areas?
Also, why do similarly priced/sized homes have such different taxes? I know Muirfield is in a different county, but the other areas are all in Franklin--yet the difference in taxes can be as much as 2k/year!
Thank you all very much!

The areas are all fine, it is just a matter of what you want out of life. If being near the beltway is important to you, then living near Coffman would be more convenient.
There aren't any really bad choices between those areas. All are fine and safe. We liked the walking path along Dublin Rd and downtown Dublin (especially the library), so we ended up living near that area.
Property taxes generally vary because they are set when the house was first built, then subsequently adjusted. Unlike a lot of other areas, such as out here in California, the relationship between current value and tax rates isn't that clear in much of Ohio.

This map has the rough boundaries of Dublin:
Dublin Ohio Maps & Real Estate Information Shopping Hotels,Etc.
Rental houses would be best found through a major real estate company website. Some of the larger companies are Real Living HER, Coldwell Banker King Thompson Realty, and REMAX. Unfortunately, as a moderator, I cannot recommend one company or agent over another. Another possibility are some of the larger rental apartment websites:
Dublin Apartments - Search Apartments Dublin, Ohio - ForRent.com
Dublin Apartments for Rent - OH on ApartmentGuide.com
Dublin Apartments for Rent - House Rentals in Dublin, OH
School District boundaries are outlined on this map:
http://www.dublin.oh.us/maps/pdf/dub...yschoolmap.pdf
And information about the Dublin School District is on this site, with the general phone number at the very top of the page:

Ohio State University is pretty easy to get to from Dublin. You can take many roads, and the school is located to the south and east of Dublin. Figure it would take about 1/2 hour to get to Ohio State from Dublin.

Not sure if you have already decided, but having lived in larger neighborhoods in the past I didn't feel as connected as I do in a smaller one. I live outside of Muirfield Village, closer to Coffman and enjoy our neighborhood trememdously. If you haven't decided, and would like to get a better feel of what our neighborhood is about, please don't hesitate to PM me. I am not a realtor, but would be happy to introduce you to a few people in the area.
