There's no need to stay away from Bexley--it's one of the nicest areas in Columbus. South and east of it things can become sketchy, but those are areas that are very easily avoided.

People have their own levels of comfort of course, but I've never heard of anyone being frightened or having problems living in Bexley.

old worthington is pretty nice if you're referring to the area on high street.....but upper arlington is still the best for what they want.
I don't know that UA is anymore walkable than central Worthington (and yes, I'm referring to Old Worthington, which is centered around High Street/Rt. 161). I actually prefer Worthington because the commercial corridor feels more organic to me (as does Westerville), whereas UA's commercial center is more of the strip mall variety, even though it is surrounded by dense residential development. I stand by my recommendation that any of the above-mentioned areas would be a great fit--safe, vibrant and good schools.

stay far from kenny road and w. henderson as there are strip clubs around (Kahoot's on kenny, columbus gold on bethel/sawmill, vanity on bethel/sawmill very near w. henderson).

I like the area around chambers Road. They have a very nice 24/7 kroger's. It is so nice that if you go at night they don't even have a police officer on duty like they do at some of the other 24/7 stores like CVS, etc.

Thanks everybody. We were in UA this weekend and loved it. We also found a house that we like, and hopefully will be able to move there soon.
It is not strictly "walkable" as we intend it in Europe, but I loved it anyway (I would never move there if I didn't have children, but priorities and needs change once you have young kids).

Nonsense. Bethel, Henderson and Sawmill are huge, lengthy commercial corridors. The presence of a few strip clubs along them doesn't mean the area is seedy or should be avoided at all. I used to live between Bethel and Henderson,a nd it was a perfectly fine place to live.

Pssst, the Borders on Henderson sells pronographic magazines. Should that be avoided as well?

Glad you liked it. As I described in an earlier post, it is walking/bicycling friendly, however it isn't an "urban" walkable community. Good luck with your move!

We have lived in the Northam Park area for many years and it is wonderful. Easy walk to schools, restaurants, shopping etc. and within a few blocks we can feed the cows along North Star Road.

I live smack in the middle of the area you're describing, (I can see Kahoots from outside my front door) and I'm trying to figure out what exactly I should stay away from here. This, like the rest of Upper Arlington, is a very solid area of Columbus.

Don't bother. It was a hit-and-run post from someone with an axe to grind with strip clubs. You won't see him/her here again.
