moving to columbus!
hello everyone,
thank you all for the info. I noticed i didnt provide enough info, so let me start by saying my husbands job is located in the Brewery District of Columbus not downtown. We have 2 childern ages 3 & 6months,therefore; good childcare is important. A 2 bedroom apt. is ok ,but i would like a 2-3 bedroom townhouse with a basement & garage. Our price ranges from $500.00 and cant exceed $850.00. a reasonable cummute to work would be no more than 20-30minutes. If any one know about Cleveland I leave in a fairly well suburb Parma, hts. So if i could find a great mid to upper class suburb with great school & friendly people with protentially buying a home there would be great. If there is anything more that someone would like to share about columbus I would greatly apperciate......Thanks!

This comment says it all. And don't forget Victorian Village, Italian Village, and Harrison West. Older homes, and many nice renovations going on....

If you are considering moving to Columbus, Ohio, I can offer you some resources to help you get connected. First, check out liveworkplayColumbus.com. It provides information and links to resources to help people get to know Columbus, from neighborhoods to arts & culture to information about the economy/industries/employers. There are links to childcare providers, and there's even a commute time calulator (click on any neighborhood, then "commute").
Speaking of employers, if you will be looking for employment as well, check out OhioMeansJobs.com, a free resource powered by Monster.com, to post your resume and find employers who are hiring. (The Columbus zipcode is 43215.)
There are many, many people who live in Columbus who are just like you: they are from someplace else. And they love living here! Columbus is a community of great diversity so, no matter your background, you will likely find your place here. Welcome home!

You can live in the neighboorhood you work in. (Which is very nice by the way)
It gets more affordable (quickly) as you move south.
No doubt you can walk to work if you want.

Nope, no robot. Just trying to help people connect to relevant and unbiased information that will help them relocate to Columbus.

You had me fooled.
This forum only works because people post honest responses to questions. All you post is that canned message in thread after thread. It's not the least bit helpful, and actually casts the Columbus Chamber in a bad light. Please, find another method of responding to these posts. Or just don't respond.

I think the information posted by Andrea-ColumbusChamber is helpful. If I were moving I would want as much information as I can about local economy and culture. I don't see how this in anyway is not helpful. Oh and 14thandYou, people don't post honest responses on this forum. They post biased opinions. Nothing wrong with that as most people understand that what they are reading is someone's opinion not a fact.
