Aww. No hard feelings

I do sometimes ponder why Columbus lacks a unified "mature" bar/lounge music scene. There have been venues that popped up and eventually went under. A piano lounge on Long St., Jazz Club in Park St. Clubs district, Martini Park at Easton, etc. Nightlife venues do have short time spans, but it is strange that a place as large as Columbus doesn't have more of a lively "mature nightlife, music" scene.

I was thinking it was because most of the innercity nightlife is demanded by younger types living in neighborhoods like the Short North/Campus/etc. While mature couples mostly live in the suburbs. When they do venture downtown area it is to dine out, go to a relaxed dinner/bar, see a show/festival/sporting event, work, or sometimes shop in neighborhoods.

But then I remembered that GV (and many other urban 'hoods) have mature couples in them, and there are many mature bars/restuarants, but it doesn't seem that extends to the nightlife scene. Maybe we are the city where once you reach 35 you never go out past 12am (generally speaking and if you are not part of the gay scene)? Or we have so many people under 35 that smart bar business owners cater to them, because that is where the cash is.
