I agree with the Bethel Road area and Grandview area. These 2 areas are good for shopping/eating and going to local bars. Also they arent in the ghetto!!

My vote is the Easton, Westerville, Gahanna areas. The closer to the Easton area the better. There are jobs ranging from financial, tech, to service.

I find Easton to be pretty drama free of both. Just people relaxed no matter where they came from.

Easton puts you 15 minutes from downtown. Also it won’t take you long to get on the outer belt 270. If you move into one of the nearby apartments you can cross the street to the mall. You'll never be hungry with all the fast food and restaurants. Hardly bored with the movies, shopping, auto places, gas stations, hotels and there is even a comedy stop, video game bar and other bars.

Default Living areas

I lived in Grandview/Marble Cliff area for 1 1/2 yrs. and really enjoyed it. We rented an apt. there for cheap.. Although I personally didn't like Columbus city limits at all, this particular area of town has everything you would need. Grandview Ave. is a really neat street with shops, restaurants, etc. If you are looking for an apt. in that area, let me know.

Tons of apartments & condos in the area (prices vary), and ergo many young single people live there. Also there's lots of "stuff" nearby – meaning, you'll never run out of places to eat, shop, bank, work out, or drink coffee.

Although it's near some ritzy suburbs, area is actually part of Columbus and thus more affordable; although you'll see the occasional Beemer or Benz cruising along Bethel, the vast majority of vehicles are Chevys, Toyotas and Fords.

Safety-wise, NW Columbus is far removed from the city's notorious ghettos.

Realistically, you fellas could probably find a good place anywhere up in that area.

Other areas to consider might be Clintonville, Beechwold or the Polaris area – the first two being much more urban/neighborhoody in character; the latter being a huge sea of suburban sprawl (but with many affordable apts).

I would definitely stay away from Morse Rd., Cleveland Ave. or anything else east of I-71, north of 670. War-zones!
Well said, some people do not consiter Columbus a City of Saftey and liveabilty, our offices are in downtown Columbus and we belive your statements were remarkably true , thank you - Stolly Enterprises

I've lived on King Ave. Grandview area for 2 years, I absolutely love it It has everything your looking for. Look at apts. off King Ave., Grandview Ave., Broadview Ave., Northstar Rd., Northwest Blvd. That should be plenty to start with. Also stay north of Third Ave. to stay in the city of Columbus, rent should be a bit cheaper because Grandview Heights has higher property taxes that effect rent pricing.
