It was recommended to me that I download this program on my personal laptop, in place of IE. Thought I'd check in to this a little more. Does anyone have any experience with this program? Pros and Cons?

I have a Novell Network for my business which works very well for us.

I never use IE unless I run into a page that refuses to work with FF or the IE "version" of FF, which is an add on.

Firefox is the popular spin-off of the Mozilla project that formed when Netscape released its source code back in the late 1990's.

Of course, most of that code was rejected and completely rewritten, but it did form the basis of the project.

I've used Mozilla and then Firefox for years under various OSes with very few issues. I use it at work, also, even though IE is the "official" browser here, but most of my coworkers use Firefox as well so it doesn't seem to matter.

I think you'll find that it's a pretty good browser, and most web sites these days don't care which browser you use. I use Firefox with my banks and it works just fine, for example.

Good to know. With IE, some sites require a more current version, but my type of work, and my best clients are not compatible with IE 8. I've downloaded FF and it seems just fine, although I need to do some add-ons, I've found. Thank you.

Firefox is great, if a bit memory hungry. I'd highly recommend AdBlock Plus.
Google chrome is a good alternative as well, probably faster to open and load pages than Firefox.

I exclusively use Firefox on my Windows computers, but i also have the IE Tab extension so I can run IE inside Firefox for those few poorly coded websites that do not work in Firefox. I also recommend Flashblock to block Flash.

I use firefox exclusively. With addons/plugins/extensions it can't be beat. Plus IE takes about 15 seconds to load (my homepage) when I hit the icon, unacceptable.

Used to use it exclusively, but it became very slow and used gobs of memory, and crashed all the time. Now I use IE v8 and prefer it immensly.
