I really dont have the dough to buy an OS.
I would have a talk with the person or business who sold you the computer. They provided you with an illegal copy of the OS, and you abilty to use the computer is severely hindered, as a result. I would therefore demand that they provide you with a legitiamte copy of the OS.

If this does not work, and if you bought it from a store or other business, inform them that you will have a chat with Microsoft's Piracy Department. They may decide to give you a legitamte copy of the software, to avoid loosing their Microsoft reseller license. Your local Better Business Bureau is another good choice.

If you bought the computer it from an individual, remind them that they sold you stolen property, and inform them of your obligatoin as a law-abiding citizen to report the theft to the police.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Happened to me too! I bought a used Dell E1705 laptop off ebay and the Win 7 install was bootleg. But I had a Dell XP OS disk so no bother... that's why the laptop sold for cheap on ebay... had no support disks.

People in the poor Philippines run bootleg Windows all the time. When it deactivates they just do a reformat and reinstall.
