They need to improve the gameplay and forget about graphics. I really don't care if a game has awesome graphics if the gameplay sucks. I've played too many games where one level would be too easy, and the next level (or mission) is almost impossible. To make matters worse, if you get killed at the end of the mission, you have to restart from the beginning, which gets really frustrating after several tries.

I've also seen games where, instead of starting easy and becoming more challenging as you go along, work the opposite way. They start hard, and as you pickup experience and weapons, become too easy.

I loved how easy and straightforward the online server configuration of RB6 - RavenShield was, then things got convoluted, erroneous and slow starting with BF2. I don't know why developers can't keep things simple (K.I.S.S.)?

Uh, good old, insane days of playing RavenShield after coming from work till 4am then going back to work at 7am where I would still hear game sounds around me.
Going bananas anyone?

The games I refer to are typically 1st person shooters as those are the only kind I play (I cannot stand games WoW where bunch of midget character running around, looking for spells, upgrades or some other dumb, foo-foo sh.t).

Another thing that ruined online gaming is PunkBuster type anti-hack software, it became a requirement but much like anti-virus scanners, the headaches they cause started to outweigh their benefits (if there was ever any) mighty fast.

Turco: Man after my own heart.

Uh... good old days of me or my roommate getting home from work at 11PM. Then I would drive over to another buddies house and fire up DWANGO to connect to the roomie's PC at my house. Then we'd be up till 3-4am fragging each other in good old Doom2.
Ahhh memories.

Also agree about Punkbuster. Anything more annoying then firing up a game, which worked just fine yesterday, only to get some effed up Punkbuster error which takes 30 minutes to figure out why??

I got tired of it.
