Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but if I am, I can't figure out what it is.

I recently got a new laptop, and just downloader Realplayer, which I had used on my old machine; it was great for downloading videos (with audio) from YouTube, etc., and then converting them to a format compatable with my portable mp3/video player.

Now, however, there seems to be a glitch; I can download the file fine, in .flv format, but when I go to convert, the process gets to 99% and then a message pops up within the converter, "Conversion Cancelled" (or something to that effect). I've never experienced this before.

I've been Googling around for the past half hour or so, and I do note that Realplayer plus requires a fee of $39.95 - and that the converter seems to be in the plus model. So, have free conversions in realplayer gone the way of the dodo? Or am I the dodo?

Realplayer went the the wy of the dodo about 10 years ago.

Firefox has some extensions for downloading youtube files.

From there you use Super for conversion.

How does that compare to AGK? Glancing at the website, it looks like it's a wrapper, much like AGK, for some of the same tools/programs. Have you used both?

I have a strong video interest so I have no need for either because I have paid for software. Besides that I really have no need for converting flv or anything of that nature. Most of the material I'm working with is mine.

I've only briefly tried super however it comes highly recommended from many people I know that are more familiar with it.

Never used autoGK but looking at the homepage for it super supports a whole lot more formats.
