you can go here AVG Free - Antivirus Download | Best Virus Protection and look at the comparisons. That's the best help I can offer since I'm not spending money on something I can get for free. Go look at the comparison. My opinion is that you get very, very little more after you spend money.

There is another good free anti-virus that you should try

Comodo at Antivirus, Internet Security, Free Anti virus Software Download | Comodo Antivirus

Comodo just recently challenged Norton saying there anti-virus system was better than theirs and for one I do not know but there are youtube videos that show both in action. They install virus and threats that a very new and see if the anti-virus pick them up.

You really have to take those comparisons with a grain of salt. I've seen computers with every AV get infected. Comodo might catch something Norton missed and next week Norton catches something Comodo missed.

I've had pretty good luck with AVG, I think I'll stick with it.
