I hope there isn't a thread about this already, I scanned & didn't see one.

I am looking for recommendations on a quiet keyboard & mouse. I'm taking college courses at a local community college via online and being a single mom to a very active 7 yr old I end up doing a lot of my work at night, plus we're living with my father right now. I don't like disturbing them with the click clicky and noisy typing.

If anyone knows of any that they are using that actually work, decently priced, and are reliable (i.e. don't fall apart, have a lot of issues, etc) I'd greatly appreciate any info. I know a lot about how to use a computer, just not so much about up to date accessories! I've had this keyboard and mouse for...well, I think almost as long as my daughter has been alive!

Something like this is definitely the quietest but not to efficient or practical for that matter hence the reason why I do not use the one I have). I was using it on my computer/work bench in the garage when I had a townhouse some years back. The reason why I liked and were using it was, it took a beating not to mention it was spill-proof!

Yeah I looked at the reviews for it. I do a lot of typing with school and writing papers and everything so that definitely wouldn't be the one for me. But I'll keep that one in mind when I get my 7 yr old her computer. It looks like it'd be easy to clean!

I'm also interested in a new keyboard and mouse. I was just looking at some, but I'm wondering what exactly they mean by "ergonomic." That is, some may consider it to be ergonomic while others are more demanding. I used the keywords "ergonomic" and "quiet."

I'm well pleased with the keyboard which came with my iMac, but I opted for this Kensington Trackball:Orbitâ„¢ Optical Trackball - K64327 - Kensington

I'd had an Orbit with my old Mac system and like it much better than the mouse. Of course my old trackball wouldn't talk to the new OS, so I bought a new one. It's very quiet and is much easier on the hand.
