While I am typing my cursor moves and I am typing somewhere else. I had this problem before and some nice person on this forum gave me an answer CNTRL/ something that worked but that was ago on a computer that is long gone. It has happened twice, so far, three times so far, the last three of now four times the page goes to the bottom. It only happens on CD
Ok, now we can get down to business and hopefully get an answer to your problem.
On the other thread, I assumed that you were talking about the mouse cursor but I'm now assuming you mean the text cursor.
Are you sure that the last time you had the problem it was solved by using the CTRL key in some fashion or combination?
I just googled the moving cursor issue and most replies are saying that it is a touchpad issue ...that your hand or wrist will rub against the touchpad and move the cursor (caret). What most are saying is if you can somehow disable your touchpad while typing, it may solve the issue. In fact, there is a program that will automatically disable the touchpad only while typing called "Touch Freeze."
But I'm thinking that this may not be your problem either because 1) you say it only happens on City-Data forums, and 2) in the past, you could correct it by using the CRTL key in some fashion.
Well, let's see what the computer experts here might say. Good luck.
Are you saying that sometimes when you are typing in the Reply box that the whole screen jumps to the bottom?
I have that happen occassionally and I think it is only when in Advanced and I have to scroll back to get to the box.
I've only had this happen on CD.

I had a similar problem with my laptop. Figured it out, for me. After installing some software it had set some defaults and one of them was "Mouse Sensitivity". I was simply brushing the heal of my hand on the mouse pad while typing. I reset the sensitivity and it the problem went away. But like I say, that's how I fixed it on my puter.
Same here, I use a mouse with my laptop and find using a touch pad a nuisance. So I have it disabled when the mouse is plugged in because I too had problems with things skipping around and disappearing, etc. because my left hand would evidently rub against the touch pad while typing and I was unaware that was happening.
However, the OP's problem seems only to be happening when he is typing in a post box in City-Data Forums.
Boompa, do you participate in any other internet forums or BB forums? ...if so, it never happens when you type in the post box in those forums. How about in your word processor ...doesn't happen?

I will add Boompa, I am using a keyboard/PC, not a laptop.
So in my case, it's not a sensitivity issue.
But it also is only an occassional thing....only enough to be a curiousity.
