Long and slow? It takes like 5 seconds and sets the PC back to iots original startup state. Unless the OP prefers to do in depth troubleshooting.

have a acer laptop and my laptop randomly restarting. tryed with this uncheck the Automatically restart option but same problem still randomly restarting.. Pls help me

Please start a new thread for yours instead of resurrecting old ones. In your thread, you can mention or link this thread stating what you had tried to resolve the issue, etc.

my laptop reboots about 3 to 4 hours and its not hot but got a copy windows 7 on it

hi.. I have Toshiba Z830 portege. the laptop shut down and restart frequently. I cannot reach neither the windows nor the Safe mode .
pleas help

This is a Ultrabook. Do you have a can of compressed air to blow out the side vents? Try that first.

While powering on, press F12 which takes you into the BIOS and see if and how long it stays on in that screen. Also test the computers adapter with a multimeter to make sure power is coming out of it and it's the correct voltage.

Past that, find out if it's still in warranty, since it usually comes with 3 yrs, and contact Toshiba.
