Windows just took 1/2 hr to find the camera with device finder, before that windows would not start, ah the pains of a new computer

There should be a door of some kind on the camera that opens to reveal the memory card slot. Your computer definitely has the slot to read an SD card.

I believe with that HP camera it is under the same cover as the battery. Should just push down on the little card and it will pop out towards you.
