Ive checked a few big national stores and I cant find long-burning blank DVD's ; I have a total of 5 movies on my Laptop Desktop from my vacation totalling 6.5 gigs ; where do i get a bland DVD that long or even close ??? Thanks for your help.

The standard DVD-R is 4.7GB. There is 8.5 GB media, but it requires you to have a drive that supports dual-layer writing.

I'd start my shopping here if I was also interested in finding the lowest price.

So, this software will shrink down my videos i have on my desktop and made to fit on a standard DVD blank disc after burning ?

Yep, if reduced quality isn't an issue.. in the Linux version (k9copy), you can remove the subtitles/dubs you don't want and make more room so you don't need to shrink the video so much.. not sure if you can do the same in DVD Shrink.

i have found that the main title VOB files usually add up to 4GB or less; if you don't require all the menu's, previews, special features, you can most likely fit the entire movie on a standard DVD-R.

slysoft anydvd will rip just the movie, or you can use a program like videoredo to join the VOB's (since you already have them ripped) to create the disc.

What about double sided DVD's? That just over 9 GB if you add up both sides. I think they still make those.
