Changing a timing belt requires tools and work space I don't have. Removing crapware requires the mouse that came with the computer.

Nope, my only real-time AV is MSE.

I don't know that I'd call that a decent price. While I have a MBP, I wouldn't call $1200 a "decent" price to anyone looking for a laptop just to surf the web on and type up some documents. I travel with mine as well as play games on it under OSX and Windows, and bought it for the weight, screen quality and battery life. That said, I could have gotten comparable hardware for about $700 or $800, albeit with a worse/lower res screen.
