I would like to buy a laptop and aside from using a computer everyday I have no idea what to look for.

I mainly need this as my second computer to check email, surf the net, and be able to play dvds.

I do not need the best or the fanciest but do want something that is going to last and be fast.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

What's your budget?

Will portability/battery life be a factor, or do you want a larger screen?

Gaming?

Streaming multimedia (audio/video)?
