Did you try download the network install for Win2K and see what happens ?

Also do this

Connect with the basic stuff hooked up, hard drive, keyboard and mouse only.

Run the updates.

If all works good, then power off, hook up one CD ROM (presuming you have 2 or more) then power on.

If it works good, hook up the next deivce, power off. And repeat till its all done, or you get a blue screen.

I had that issue with a graphics card I had.

I had always heard nothing but bad things about those e-machines from several different people. My brother had an e-machine it gave him several problems. He got rid of it and bought a hp laptop.

Actually if you know how to do it, no you don't.

I talked to guys who works for a living securing computers without updates, firewalls, or anything added on. They make their money by making computers secure from basic installs. And if anything messes up, they lose a lot of money.
