Hi. Tried to download Adobe's trial pdf converter, for whatever reason it will not download - corrupt file error message. I need to convert a few files to pdf. Is there a recommended site or software? Thanks.

CutePDF works for me, and it is free.

It goes into your printer list, and you "print" the document designating CutePDF as the "Printer."
Then save to your document files.

Thanks Mike, I will be emailing the converted files. Is that doable, or is the convert only in printing?

With this installed, if you can print it, you can create a PDF file of what would be printed. This allows formatting (two pages per sheet as example).

Also handy for printing a reciept from a webpage if you order something online.

I use Primo PDF (similar app), but I do the same thing. I don't print anything that I don't have to have on paper (receipts, etc), just print to PDF.

Mac or PC? Mac's will save as PDF natively.
You can also use Google docs or Office Live save the doc as PDF.

The free utilities like CutePDF the other's have indicated is useful because it becomes a virtual printer and can be used with any app on your computer. So you can save anything to a PDF by just "printing" it. Instead of physically printing it, it'll prompt you to select a location to save the PDF file.

command P... then press "save as pdf" rather then "enter".

It doesn't actually print, it creates a PDF document from the application your working in, which you can do what you wish with.
