My Dell Studio 1735 has Windows Vista home on it. Well it did until some files got corrupted and it wouldn't boot. So I said screw it and formatted the hdd and was going to install vista back on it.

Well everything was fine until I receive this message in the Vista installation:

"A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB please insert it now."

Well I went to the dell website and they have this firmware download but Vista is saying its the incorrect driver. I mean it loaded files from the disk. I dont understand once I got into the GUI interface it's saying this.

The driver I think Im looking for is:
"OPTIARC AD-7640S 12.7mm SATA Slotload 8X DVDRW"

Does anyone know where I could possibly get a driver for this drive?

Thats the one I have already tried. Says it's the incorrect driver.

A couple of things to try:

Windows 7 Won’t Install: “A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing”
