Safely Remove is mostly of concern when using flash drives. Does it matter so much when just writing photos from a camera or card reader? It seems obvious when the camera or card reader is done loading the photos.

Any time your PC is mounted to flash memory and you don't use "Safely Remove Hardware," you run the risk of corrupting and ruining that flash memory. That includes flash memory in a camera.
