I did notice that a certification war has been attempted. I wondered how long that would take... Fall back and regroup was bound to happen.
I am always amazed at the straws that are grasped when trying to slam Windows. Ignoring the obvious fact that the product is a review and focusing only on one aspect of it (the screen that has some so upset) and ignoring anything else about it is a prime example. As is trying to make it seem like it's the only thing MS is advertising as a change to the OS when in fact it's just something that is different enough that they put a single picture of it on the preview site, probably knowing all the critics would focus on it, and it alone.
On the plus side it does get them a lot of free press, so I guess they're smarter than the critics.

Poooooor Microsoft I feel really bad for them! (not)
Certification wars wouldn't happen if you and NHDave here didn't start calling me a troll and others uneducated. It seems the 2 of you cannot handle the slightest critique of your dear abused superpower that is Microsoft.
No harm done, I know it is a religious battle when it comes to Operating Systems (lol), I just simply thought the Screenshot that MS is promoting for their new W8 desktop is packed with fail. I am not alone...

The problem here is your skewed understanding of the situation. We don't worship MS or Windows, but we do insist on dealing with things in a realistic manner. You focusing entirely on just that single screen shot is not realistic so we voice our opinion of that view.
Starting the thread off with a Windows Vs. Apple comparison pretty much set the tone of the entire thread so your mini-rant about our "love" of Windows is, at best, disingenuous. You should perhaps pay attention before starting off a thread with a flame: http://www.city-data.com/forum/19298717-post1.html
It is as simple as that.

Have you read a single word in this thread? It's been said about a thousand times that it'll look just like Win7 does if you don't use the tablet UI.

This is just a developers preview. It's not even beta yet. It will change.
