Maybe it is already at maximum brightness. Can you lower the brightness?
Make sure you have the hot key drivers and monitor drivers installed. Are their adjustment buttons on the front of the monitor? Can you get any response with those?

No it cant get any lower. I had a matte screen and replaced it with a gloss screen. Im not sure why its so dime or will not adjust to a brighter setting. I dont know if it is a bad LCD bulk, invert er or if I need to download drivers...any other suggestions??

I am not sure exactly how to do that. I am on the laptop now, I try using the FN key...I have went in the BIOS and still no brighter screen. Its a new gloss screen. I dont think its the LCD bulk because the screen does light up...its just using it in the daytime is where the issues are.

Download the Dell software for your device, see if it helps.
