I'd like to grab some stuff from my DVR and put it on my computer? Does anyone know how to do this?

Depends on the DVR- some have a USB, ethernet/network port which provides for connectivity. TiVO I believe has all that and makes it easy to transfer stuff back and forth (or just look at video files on a network share). The DVR I lease from my cable company doesn't have any way to do that, hence I may be going to TiVO soon.
