Default my computer won't read my camera's memory card

I'm not sure if its the memory card itself on my digital camera that's broken or if its the drive that I put it in. Every time I try to upload my pictures, I get a pop up saying that either the card is unreadable or the port is busted. I'm still able to take pictures on the memory card with my camera. I don't have any other card to compare it with though. How do I figure it out? and also, if its the card that's busted, did I lose the opportunity to make prints out of all my pictures on it? I even tried using the USB cord that came with my camera and even that is saying its unreadable. I'm really bummed.

Try another card.
Try the same card in another camera.
Try another PC USB port.

Any chance a special driver is needed to communicate with the camera?

Try using the usb port cord to another computer friends or something. Transfer it to another memory card then upload that to your computer. Or email them to your computer.

Don't many of those photo printing kiosks take memory cards?

Try one and see what happens...

Use a card reader connoted to your computer. If it works from there, then there is a problem either with the camera mini-USB port, or the cable itself. A card reader does not cost very much.

If it works in the camera and takes pictures it's most likely the port on your computer, try the card/camera on another computer.

4G's? I'm assuming you mean 4GB, can't understand why you'd suggest this when you don't know the size of the OP's memory card, a 4GB won't do much good if they have a larger card with more than 4GB of data.
