Is my keyboard shot, or something else? (sounds, software, Word)

My keyboard is constantly tabbing down to the next line when I hit the spacebar.

look
like
this.

I feel like I am writing a haiku, LOL.

Help! Did my 2 1/2 year old do something to my keyboard to cause this, or is it just shot?

Tired of hitting "backspace"

Open a command prompt or DOS box and type a few words on the command line. If the problem still occurs, then it is likely your keyboard at fault. If not, then it sounds more like a software issue where the [spacebar] has been redirected to act as an [Enter]. Using the command prompt to test eliminates some (but not all) variables in the testing. Are any other keys giving unusual results when pressed?
