I checked out the system requirements and the game doesn't need a high end GPU. It recommends a GeForce FX 5600 or better. It also recommends a P4 2.4, that makes me wonder if the game is made to play on processors with Hyperthreading or additional cores. I remember having a lot of problems playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 because hyperthreading on a P4 I was using. It would always lock up. I didn't have the problem when I played it on an older P4 without hyperthreading. You might need an older rig to play the game.

Try turning off hyperthreading and any additional cores to see if it helps. It never helped me but it's worth a shot. Your OS may also be a problem. Try playing the game in XP mode. I've been forced to play in XP mode on some of my older games.

The best is the 27" imac, though you'll have to install windows for gaming. The graphics cards range from AMD radeon 6750m to Radeon 6970m (they're mobile chips but more than capable with games - crysis is perfectly smooth at 'very high') That's over your budget, but the 'best' all in one isn't going to cost $600 - you get what you pay for.

===============

For <$600, take a good look at those Inspirion's,,, I've not used one, but reviews sound good, for the price point.

Seems like Majordomo has some very good suggestions / points… good luck.
