I don't know of specific monitors that have webcams... however you want one a monitor with an IPS panel. IPS panels provide great color accuracy and viewing angle. The Dell Ultrasharps are good. The ASUS monitor linked in the above post have TN panels which have poor to good color reproduction (depending on various factors) and poor viewing angle. Many people like TN panels for video games because they can draw the screen changes faster.
I'm confused. In the OP, you mentioned that display quality was important. But then you bought this. According to HP's website, it has a twisted nematic backlit LCD. It would appear that doesn't satisfy your display quality requirement.

The quality is quite satisfying.
Perhaps on paper it should not be that good...?
Even though TN monitors are inferior on paper, the technology continues to improve. If you compare it to a 5 year old monitor, a new monitor is going to look great unless you bought the cheapest one on the market. Most people don't measurbate over every specification. If it looks bright, sharp, and saturated, they're happy.
We went *that route* except we bought the LG 27 inch one, for about 50 more green ones. What we liked was the tilt/swivel stand.
Only one *problem*, if you are a *gamer* (which we are NOT !!).
The unit is a 60 Hz one, and that often makes the picture*blocky* in high end video games ...
Personally, because I work with multiple windows very often, I like the possibility to *see* three windows at any time without having to switch.
Two on the external monitor, one on our 17 inch laptop.
What I can not figure out is that your wife is satisfied while the monitor you mention does NOT have a built in webcam ???
We use the built in webcam on the laptop, but *look* at the grand-kids on the external monitor.
They tell me to look at the laptop when we talk (Skype) to them, because it seems our eyes look crooked all the time like some people have this *problem* where they talk to you, but their eyes are somewhere else ...
More advantage !! I can now watch TV at the same time I am looking at some Computer Programme !!!
My wife now calls my laptop the *Squint-top* ... Oh well !
