My computer is moving the page up and down, and I lose the page frequently. It is a laptop, brand new. What is causing this?

Do you mean internet page? Does it happen in other programs?

What kind of computer is it?

If so, it could be a number of things. The trackpad may be too sensitive, and you may be touching it by accident. The drivers for the trackpad could be bad, or the computer is defective/something happened; something spilled on it, someone dropped it.

A stuck key is another possibility.

If it just happens in your internet browser, try re-installing that, or using a different browser.

It is a Gateway, laptop. It was fine in NY, then I traveled to Florida, and I am in a rural area. Could it be the internet connection? It has been a little sensitive before, but now, any page jumps all the way down by itself. I have taken excellent care of it. Thank you for your help.

Windows 7 recommends that it should be set at 1600 x90, and it is set at such.

Any page goes down very fast, and moves often up and down. It is hard to keep it in place. Thank you for your help.

If it worked fine in NY and doesn't in FLA sounds like something has a loose connection internally, not something you can fix on your own.

Since it's brand-new it's still under warranty, bring it back to the store you purchased it from.

Most touch pads have a scrolling function on the right side of it, even if it isn't marked. Are you accidentally moving your finger over it?

Not sure if touch pads have the same function but there is a click lock option for mouse.

1) Go to the start menu.
2) Go to Control Panel. If you do not see Control Panel, go to My Computer and you should see Control Panel on the left.
3) In Control Panel, go to Printers and other hardware.
4) In there, go to Mouse.
5) Then, check or uncheck the box by click lock.
6) Click on Apply and then OK.
