Pricewatch is where I start my shopping or price checking. Newegg is one of the vendors on the site and the reason I prefer using Pricewatch instead of going directly to a vendor's site is, due to the constant competition between vendors, the items are sometimes listed at a lower price if you use the link on listed by the vendor on Pricewatch as opposed to visiting the vendor's web site directly.

Refurbs are fine if they're from the factory, and not a 3rd party refurb. Most come with a warranty (usually 1 year) and work just like a new one.

Weekly Specials Ads Local Sunday Circulars

Sometimes a really good deal shows up in a Sunday ad.

An example from the first page of the Newegg ad: Newegg.com - Acer S211HLbd 21.5'' 5ms LED-Backlight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 12,000,000:1 (ACM)

Before buying anything online I always first check Slickdeals: The Best Deals, Coupons & Discounts on Laptops, Computers, LCDs, TVs, Dell, HP, Apple, Amazon followed by Coupons and Deals: Save money with hot deals and coupon codes. Fatwallet also offers cash back. If there's a deal out there, you'll find it on one of these two sites for sure! Good Luck!

Compare Prices, Read Reviews, and Find the Best Deals - PriceSpider.com is another nice service. They show specials, hot buys, and you can subscribe to 'watch' an item, etc.
