I agree. However, the owners could easily restore those servers from proper backups before any significant number of days would pass.

I think there was a time in the past (early days of WWW) that such an attack could have been crippling, but nowadays it is highly unlikely. We can check on April 1 and see how much damage they do.

BTW, knowing the IP address of a server won't help much, unless all you want to do is read the welcome page. Browsing within a website requires DNS services.

Actually, this isn't entirely true. Depends on the website and how it has been setup. Ips still can be used for internet activities. Obviously, it has limitations, like using windows w/o a mouse.
