My laptop has an old graphics card. It came with the laptop I got in 2007. This makes new games unplayable, and lag alot. I wonder if I could get any graphics card for a laptop off the shelf, and put it in my laptop. Is it hard to do so?

Well first off most graphics cards sold in stores are for desktops. Secondly it depends what laptop you have. Third you might want to mention what graphics card you have now and what games you are trying to play.

Laptops arent like desktops. You cant just pull out the video card and push in a new one.
Depending on your laptop you might have to remove a lot of hardware before you can replace it.

I'm looking to play Skyrim (Or any other new games that came out). I have a really old graphics card which was made in 2006 or 2007. It's NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 (for laptops). My laptop is old, and I got it at the time the graphics card came out.

Sorry mate you aren't going to be playing skyrim anytime soon

Assuming you upgrade your video card, your laptop is still ancient.

If anyone has played Skyrim, or any recently released game using an old graphics card like mine, please post on this thread. I guess I'll have to invest in a newer graphics card.

I have enough Memory and I could install a better performance mod. It's the graphics card I'm more concerned about.

Did you play Skyrim on 7800 Go? What's it like playing Skyrim at 15 fps?
