OK, here is another FIRST. What was your first computer? I'll start off with my awesome "fire breathing, speed demon!"

Commodore Vic-20

This baby had a whopping 5K of RAM and used an external cassette drive for program storage.

Here is a cool web site about vintage computers. Perhaps you will find yours?

I had a commodore 64 too...and an apple (mcintosh) at school...don't remember which came first but I grew up in the Atari era, so maybe you can figure it out better than me.

This is what are computers will eventually evolve into!

Oh, my second computer was a Commodore 128...now that was a great computer! My first disk drive, could operate in 64 or 128 mode, AND CP/M mode (the precursor to DOS). To think this was only 20 years ago!

Commodore 128

Did your dad buy this? Came out in 1984 and lasted until 1985. Expensive compared to other home computers during this time.

No, actually it was a door prise and I would have never had one except that got me hooked. My daughter who was 9 at the time learned to program in basic on that machine. She is now my help desk person for all problems related to computers. She built my current tower which has served me well for 12 years! A couple of upgrades have helped and connecting to cable has been a blessing! I had dial-up for years....I'll save that for another thread.

My brother built our computer. I don't know what was in it but it worked really well. Looking at the pictures of the those computers reminded me of a video game system we used to own. I believe the name of it was Odyssey. That system had the best games ever!
