Why do files and attachments say "blank page"? (email, app)

Why do files and attachments sometimes say "blank page" when I try to open them? Thank you.

Don't have clue, never had a file or an attachment say "blank page"

I have had files and attachments that when I opened them they contained nothing...

And when I checked the file size it was 0 (zero).

No where near enough information. What OS? what email app? What file types, same all the time or different ones?
